The Titan from the show The Orville doesn’t have many references, so a source that I won’t mention here got me some references of Titans they used for the show.

From the references I could sketch a rough layout which I used for the build.

I mostly worked with different types of foam and used the PVC sheets to build the outer shell as it had to look flawless as a sci-fi gun. The black grip of the gun was sculpted with foam clay and when cured it’s soft so it feels like a rubber grip.

The sketch I made also functioned as patterns so I cut them apart, traced them on a PVC sheet, and pieced them together like a puzzle. PVC can be heated and shaped, so that’s what I did.
Just being really carefully as when it’s heated: Fingerprints can be left while working and the edges of the sheets can change shape when too much heat is applied.

To glue all of the different parts together, I mainly used small bits of Cosplayflex, a thermoplastic material that once heated gets sticky and soft and it sticks wonderfully to PVC parts. Basically, I stuck the PVC base and the outer shell together with Cosplayflex. All the foam parts were glued with contact cement.

An LED was attached to a 3 V battery and the construction hat to be flat to fit the space in the small compartment.
A bit of light makes the prop look even better!
The lid of the compartment stays in place with hidden magnets.
